Apologetics and the Covenant Child/Infant

Well, I had my first apologetics encounter today with my two-year old daughter present. I truly believe that Deuteronomy 6 is involved in things such as this when it states;

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.

What I mean is, we are to speak of the Lord with our Covenant children in any and all situations and that would include matters of apologetics. Even at this young and tender age of two, my daughter, through the Spirit, is and needs to be discipled unto the Lord. When “we” encountered these Jehovah’s Witnesses, “we” kept in mind the words of Corenlius Van Til when he stated the following to Greg Bahnsen;

It is never about winning, Greg. It is about exposing their inconsistency.
God does everything else. Never forget the antithesis.”
—Cornelius Van Til to Greg L. Bahnsen (1985)

I do hope and pray that the Lord will teach my little one this and all of His truths. After all, she is the daughter of God;

And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you.8 And I will give to you and to your offspring after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession, and I will be their God.” (Genesis 17:7-8, ESV)
