Since the posting of the Philippians 2.5-11 PowerPoint seemed to be helpful to some, I thought it might be equally beneficial to post my PowerPoints for Colossians 1.15-20. Again, notice the absolute deity of Christ in this passage and pay special attention to the terms “image” and “firstborn” in verse 15, which must be interpreted in the context of Christ as the creator of all that exists, both physical (the universe, matter, etc.) and the non-physical (angelic beings, invisible/spiritual realm, etc.). In short, the eternal Son performed the work of creation in unison with the first and third members of the Trinity (the Father and Spirit) because He is YHWH the Son, as demonstrated by the text of Colossians 1 (and 2 – see 2:9).
Also, I have added a second PowerPoint below, which deals with the same subject of Colossians 1, with the added feature of the Watchtowers perversions of key Christological texts – where they either add to the word of God by the insertion of the word “other” (Christ created all “other” things in Col 1.15, hence making Him a temporal being), or by their violation of the Greek rules of grammar, as seen in 2 Peter 1:1 (see the Greek rule of grammar known as the Granville Sharp Construction for Titus 2.13 and 2 Peter 1.1, two texts which without apology call Jesus the great God and Savior).
Finally, for those of you who teach Sunday School, small groups or apologetics, feel free to utilize these PowerPoints if you find them helpful. Enjoy and many blessings…
