As I glance through the Qur’an this evening, I am reminded just how valuable the Bible is in regards to truth. I continue to be amazed when I deal with false religions and cults, in that there is a glaring inconsistency in both their worldview and their founding documents. Consider
this statement made in the Qur’an about the deity of Christ and the Trinity for instance;
Sura 5:116. And behold! God will say: “O Jesus the son of Mary! Didst thou say unto men, worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of God’?” He will say: “Glory to Thee! never could I say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, thou wouldst indeed have known it. Thou knowest what is in my heart, Thou I know not what is in Thine. For Thou knowest in full all that is hidden.
The interesting this about this text and others like it is found in the fact that Islam believes that the Trinity consists of Allah, the Son and Mary (mother of Jesus). Hence, I am left wondering how the “all knowing” Allah did not even know what Christians believed in the seventh century when the Qur’an was published. This is a wonderful example of the untrustworthiness of the Qur’an and the message therein. Also, regarding Muhammad, it is justified to say that he was simply one of many false prophets, considering the fact that he relayed false information to his followers about the Bible itself. Thus, it is easy to see that his message was false.
Noting this, let us never take for granted the wonderful and blessed revelation that God has granted us in the pages of Holy Scripture. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow…
